Research on the User Experience of BrainBite: AI Learning for Kids

BrainBite is a Dutch tech startup with a mission to revolutionize the way children learn. By leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), BrainBite creates engaging learning experiences that combine interactive AI avatars, playful tasks, and personalized learning paths. The goal is simple: make learning fun, accessible, and effective for today’s generation of children.

BrainBite’s core mission is to create a world where every child can learn in the way that suits them best – personalized, inclusive, and tailored to their unique talents.

At SPRINT, we’re passionate about supporting initiatives that have a meaningful social impact. We believe in BrainBite’s mission and in the power of technology to make learning more enjoyable and equitable. That’s why we decided to help by conducting a user experience study for them at no cost, enabling startups with a strong purpose to take the next step in their journey.

The Challenge: Understanding the User Experience

BrainBite was at a critical stage in its development. The concept was solid, the prototype was built, but one big question still needed answering: How user-friendly is the platform, and does it meet the expectations of parents when it comes to their children’s learning?

To find out, we conducted a user experience study with parents of children aged 6 to 13. The participants tested a prototype of the BrainBite learning platform and gave us feedback on its usability, design, clarity, and AI functionalities.

This allowed us to uncover how user-friendly, clear, and appealing the BrainBite prototype is for parents, and to understand how they perceive the platform in terms of logic, safety, and suitability for their child.

Our Approach: Real Testing, Real Insights

To gain an accurate and comprehensive understanding of the user experience, we conducted a two-phase evaluation. First, we ran a usability test to observe real user behavior. Then, we followed up with a qualitative deep dive, gathering detailed feedback from parents on key aspects of the platform.

During this process, we explored how well parents understood the platform, the clarity of information, the intuitive nature of the parent dashboard, and how effectively the AI mentors engaged children. This approach gave us a clear picture of the strengths of BrainBite and highlighted areas for improvement.

Results: A Strong Foundation with Great Potential

The results of our research were promising. Overall, the platform was easy to understand and user-friendly, and parents felt confident their children would enjoy using it.

“Thanks to the insights from this research, we were able to make impactful changes to our product right away, significantly improving the user experience. It’s fantastic that SPRINT did this for us at no cost, as it was extremely valuable!” – BrainBite
